Neuma.
A restaurant project that’s nestled within the busy by-lanes of Colaba (A bustling sector of Mumbai), which also marks Indian filmmaker Karan Johar's entry into the hospitality world. The restaurant is housed in a restored colonial-era bungalow, which once was a fine-dining restaurant named Indigo (shut down in 2018). Each room of the bungalow is meant to appeal to diners based on the mood they find themselves in on that particular day, at that particular time.

Process.
The design process began with various ideations of the story each space would tell. From the start Ashiesh had a vision to grant individuality to each room while weaving them harmoniously into a unified whole. The process began by making mood boards and themes for each space to discuss with the clients. The planning stage of the project was mostly overseen by Ashiesh along with our team lead Lila until the clients finalized the restaurant's theme. We then visualized each rooms elevations using Photoshop, refining layouts through trials. Most of the furniture pieces for this project were designed in-house, crafted by a local vendor.
